Stanley Beach

Located in the south east corner of Hong Kong Island, Stanley has a small beach and a large market which is great for souvenirs to bring back to loved ones at home.After the annexation of Hong Kong in 1842, the British made Stanley the temporary administrative centre, before moving it to the newly founded Victoria City on the north shore of Hong Kong Island.

                        

 This beach is rumored that the pirate Cheung Po Tsai was active in Stanley during the Qing Dynsasty.

  In June, you can expierence the excitement of the anual Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships. This has been an over forty year tradition and takes place at Stanley's main beach. Over 200 teams attend to compete. This events attract people from all over the world, and is one of the biggest racing events in Hong Kong!

           

 Silvermine Bay Beach

Silvermine Beach is located on the quiet island of Lantau and is a short 30 minute ferry ride away from Central Hong Kong. It is associated with the Southern Song Dynasty. This beach is a quiet little get away from the city. It has many hiking trails and has an exciting pier with many activities to participate in.

 

Shek O Beach 

Shek O Beach is a popular weekend vacation spot filled with local restuarants, a small golf course and barbaques. The beach is located on the south-eastern penninsula of Hong Kong. "Shek O" translated means Rocky Bay. Shek O beach is known for their beautiful scenery.
